Control weeds

Weed is a plant, growing in the lawn, but not the type of grass, recommanded for turf formation. With the introduction of regular mow the weeds growing become more difficult. Most of the weeds can not cope with the frequent cut, and so they are gradually disappearing. Unfortunately, a random weeds can appear even in the good lawn with excellent care. The sources of their emergence: seeds made by the wind from the adjacent territories; seeds and pieces of wood at the lawn mower-always use the box for grass, if the lawn has weeds; chop of stems, roots and seeds are carring in on the shoes, with compost, animals, etc.; seeds carried by the birds, their droppings often contains weed seeds; creepers from neighbouring territories.

In addition, the seeds always are contained in the soil. Bare patches of land and the rare grass growth may encourage germination years after the lawn creation. Deeply buried seeds can be taking out on the surface by worms.

Foreign plants make the lawn look heterogen; broad leaves overshadow and squeezed thin grass;loss of the decoration-the lawn grass become the second class; rooted weeds take away water and nitrogen for plants and garden ageing accelerated; in a slow growth of grass weeds of carpet type and rosetocnae weeds are propagated very quickly.

The removal of weeds

Strong growth of healthy grass will prevent the emergence of weeds on the lawn. In the first place they inhabit wild patches of land or plots with rare herbs, hence, it is necessary to prevent the emergence of the plots. This requires proper caring for lawns, and to folow the below listed rules.

Correct edge. It is important to comply with the recommended height. Cut below this height or edge at the correct altitude, but with uncommon frequency result in the grass weakness and weeds. The blade on the lowest height in order to cut out the weeds normally give not positive results. This is the "small and frequent" grass cut, which is more important for young lawn than for the old one.

A good watering. Poorwatering leads to weakness of the lawn herbs, which, in turn, contributes to the spread of weeds when the soil is moisture enough. Proper lawn sweeps helps get control of weeds, as well as improves the viability of grass due to the destruction of layer of straw, which is formed on the surface.

Correct fertilizing. The nutrients in the control of weeds stimulates the grass growth. This means that the space on which the weeds are grown, diminish or even disappear. In addition, high productivity grass helps in the fight against emerging weeds for the same living space.

Proper control of the disease. As a result of diseases the small plots or dead grass appear on which can settle weeds or moss. If lawn has dead areas it is necessary to be re-sow or change sod before weeds begin to spread.
